The hospital is seriously tarnishing what could be a 5 star reputation by not hiring / paying for quality daytime nursing staff.

I'm writing this here because the only patient relations is a phone number, and I like to have a written record of communications, especially for negative reviews. I might call, but I'd prefer they have an email for written complaints. This alone is worth knocking off one star.

In addition, we had to remind daytime staff to provide medication on time, and pain medication was dispensed in the hallway on one occasion also by The same nurse (also flushed my wife's IV in the hallway).

The night nursing staff (Margaret in particular) was pretty good. All of our meds on time, I really felt like they were paying attention to us and were ready in case something went wrong.

My wife and I recently delivered our second child here (first was here as well), and while the doctors are amazing, the nursing staff (daytime) leaves much to be desired after this most recent visit.

I first of all, the nurses and doctors are OUTSTANDING, and the ONLY reason I am writing this is so SOMEONE can do something about the SLOW pharmacy and LACK of care for patients. A family member was in intensive care (ICU) and on MULTIPLE occasions, the calls to the pharmacy left ALL of us wondering why it took so long, but THE NURSES AND STAFF ALSO said that this is standard and they were sorry but they were frustrated also. This did NOT happen once, but MULTIPLE times even while we were here. Imagine while we were not. If you have a choice, it is difficult to say (because the doctors and nurses are SO GOOD)....but I would NEVER come here again if I had a choice. Sad to leave such an impression because of a pharmacy. VERY SAD......my family member is screaming in pain and all they can say is, sorry, the pharmacy is slow and we are waiting just like you.

I had an amazing experience all three times that I was at Providence Park Hospital twice for two separate surgeries and once for a correction and that the check me over and had to stay pretty much close to overnight they want to make sure I was 100% OK to go home. The doctors and the surgeons and the nurses the whole staff are amazing people there so polite friendly extremely knowledgeable listen to their patients that's what's amazing they listen to us then make sure were comfortable that we are OK they were doing OK and they always let us know step-by-step what's going on with us with our testing or whatever they have to do the last blood work regular check up whatever the doctors on your staff to do to you they let you know what they have to do to your watch if I get done the staff at the doctors the nurses everybody there are amazing people I never go anywhere else if I ever need help again this is my Hospital I love Providence Park Hospital. Thank you very much to all the doctors surgeons and nurses anesthesiologists everyone who helped me in my time of need when I was there for all my procedures thank you very very much for making me better.

We also had a problem with dismissal, the pediatrician came at 12:00 and the OB came at 10:00 (neither were a single minute late), but we didn't get dismissed until after 4pm (without being served lunch). I understand that sometimes it takes a while for the Pediatrician to do rounds, but it doesn't take three hours, and we only ever had been told by nursing staff that we would be dismissed around noon, with no update (would have been nice to know, we could have ordered lunch).

Again, overall the labor and delivery is well equipped, clean, and the doctors are top notch, the nursing staff needs improvement, more qualified people, or better pay to get better staff, or something.

The service at Providence Park Hospital is absolutely despicable. My 82 year old grandfather was brought in due to extremely low blood pressure and shortness of breath. Upon arriving in the ER, nurses immediately began screaming at him to stand up, refusing to give him a wheelchair, and not allowing a single family member in the room. They all behaved extremely unprofessionally and we ended up rushing him to Henry Ford.

From the time I walked into ER until I was discharged 4 days later, the staff was very attentive and caring. Over the past 10 years I've been in several local hospitals because of aging parents and in-laws with various medical problems. The care and attention I received at Providence was far better than what I've seen provided at any other local hospital. If you need to be in a hospital, I would highly recommend Providence as the place to be. Kudos to the staff on 4-B.

The daytime staff, [Name Redacted] on the other hand, missed pain medication twice, once by more than an hour and the second time, the day of dismissal, by more than 2 hours. She apologized for being late, saying that she was "chit chatting and ordering lunch". I was kind of aghast at that response.
